NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July, 23, 2014) – The Nashville Business Coalition (NBC) has announced its endorsements in Davidson County state legislative races scheduled for August 2014. The NBC is a political action committee comprised of business leaders committed to supporting local and state candidates who understand the importance of a more prosperous business environment.
The NBC endorsements:
Senate District 19 – Thelma Harper (incumbent)
Senate District 24 – Jeff Yarbro
House District 55 – Gary Odom (incumbent)
“Nashville’s business community applauds all those who choose to run or re-run for public office,” said NBC Chair Nancy Stabell. “Our coalition is pleased to support incumbents – Sen. Thelma Harper and Rep. Gary Odom – who have consistently been supporters of pro-business legislation that benefits our economy.”
“We are also pleased to support Jeff Yarbro in the Senate District 24 race; as a successful, civic-minded attorney, Jeff understands the complexity of the issues facing Nashville,” Stabell added. “He has been a longtime volunteer in Metro Schools and serves as an advocate for solutions to our city and region’s growing congestion challenges. We encourage business leaders to make their voices heard in support of pro-business candidates and vote in the upcoming primary and general elections.”
ABOUT THE NASHVILLE BUSINESS COALITION
The Nashville Business Coalition was formed as a political action committee to support pro-business candidates in time to participate in the 1999-2003 Metro election term of office. The NBC has vetted and supported Metro and state government candidates since that time.
